Walk with Audubon

Experience the natural beauty and history of Audubon State Historic Site during Walk with Audubon, a quarterly bird walk with the Baton Rouge Audubon Society.

Explore the wooded grounds of the historic site and walk through the landscape that inspired artist and naturalist John James Audubon during his time in the area. It was here that Audubon observed and studied the region’s birds, drawing inspiration for his renowned Birds of America series.

During this guided walk, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, observe local birdlife, and experience the same natural surroundings that influenced Audubon’s work nearly two centuries ago. Whether you’re an experienced birder, interested in history and nature, or simply looking for a beautiful way to spend a fall morning, this program offers a unique opportunity to explore Audubon State Historic Site.

Preregistration is required, and regular park grounds admission applies.
