America 250!- Revolutionary War Reenactment

Visitors are invited to take a step back into the past at the October 25th and 26th Annual Revolutonay War Reenactment and Living History at Audubon State Historic Site in Historic St. Francisville, La. Each year the park commemorates the sights and sounds of the American Revolution in Louisiana including the 1779 Battle of Baton Rouge. This year is leading up to the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, a nationwide celebration that concludes in 2026.
Beginning at 10 AM each day there will be costumed reenactors recreating the life and times of the American Revolution with musket and cannon firing demonstrations, medical demonstrations, blacksmithing, a battle each day, and more. Guests on Saturday get free admission to the park grounds, a fee is charged to tour Historic Oakley House.
Audubon State Historic Site is the setting for the 200-year-old Oakley House, temporary home and inspiration to John James Audubon in the 1800s. The park includes a museum, picnic areas, historic buildings, pavilion, and nature trail. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, Oakley House and its lush natural settings are open daily Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
