Harrington (August 12, 1943—June 18, 2023) considered his art a blend of impressionism, expressionism, and pointillism. His paintings often capture lovely Louisiana scenes: egrets and other birds, the Mississippi River, oak trees, sugar cane fields, and bayous. The artist lived for many years in St. Francisville, where he owned an art gallery on Royal Street.

The show will remain at Backwoods through November 30.
