The Friends of Cat Island will host a birding walk at 6:00 AM and a nature walk at 8:00 AM at Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge. Both walks will be about three miles. The exact location on the refuge is tentative at this time based on refuge conditions. A volunteer will be available to guide you to the correct spot where you will sign in. Native Habitat Restoration, 9:30 a.m. to noon, at Audubon State Historic Site, 11788 Highway 965 south of downtown St. Francisville. Volunteers will manually remove invasive plants and will plant native species. No prior experience is necessary; a short training and introduction will be provided. Registration is required; please call the park at 225-635-3739.
