Your guide to St. Francisville’s premier summer shopping event
Pop & Shop is an annual event, which takes place on August 23rd from 4 to 7 pm this year, and brings hundreds of people to downtown St. Francisville. Businesses slash prices, hosts artists, and serve delicious cocktails and mocktails. It may be hot, but the deals you’ll score are even hotter! Continue reading to get all the details you’ll need to make it an event you’ll want to experience year after year.

Saturday Morning
You wake up in one of St. Francisville’s beautiful bed & breakfasts, you hear birds chirping, the sun is seeping through the curtains, and you may even see an adorable deer outside your window. You may want to get the blood flowing, so you grab a coffee or tea at a local coffee shop like Birdman or Elta before hitting any one of the hiking and nature trails West Feliciana Parish has to offer. When you return, you change and head to Restaurant 1796 or The Saint for a delicious brunch to replenish the calories you burned on your hike.
Midday
After brunch, the shops begin to open, so you hit some of the outer lying businesses that aren’t on the Pop & Shop route that you’ll hit later tonight. Places like Patrick’s Fine Jewelry, where their 50% Summer Sale is taking place. While you’re in that area, check out Mia Sophia Florist and Cross Quilters to find some other gifts and hobby supplies. If antiques are your thing, head north a little way to the shopping center that is home to West Feliciana Antique Mall and Findings. Both are filled with curated treasures that are looking for a new home. Findings is holding “PrePop” festivities that include complimentary champagne and refreshments while you shop. John Stewart will be performing live music there beginning at 12 pm as well. If you need an afternoon boost of energy, head next door to Madewell Nutrition to pick up one of their loaded teas. Now you’re ready to head towards downtown! But no need to worry about driving. Feel free to leave your vehicle in the shopping center parking lot and call the complimentary town trolly (225-721-7060). Stop along the way at Back in Time Antiques to see what wonderful finds can be found there. If it’s before 4 pm and you still need to explore a bit before Pop & Shop begins, have the trolly take you to the Historic District to the West Feliciana Parish Historical Society Museum. Their gift shop is open from 10 am to 4 pm and is home to many local items, including the famous Grand Mother’s Buttons collection.

Pop & Shop
Now is the time you’ve been waiting for, Pop & Shop! Although most of the shops have been open all day, the height of the activities downtown begins at 4 pm and lasts until 7-ish.

Have the trolly bring you to the edge of downtown and pop in and out of shops along Commerce and Ferdinand Streets. (We encourage you to use public parking lots on the edges of downtown to reduce traffic. See map for details.) Here is a schedule of the events and artists pop-ups happening:
