Mary Ann Brown Nature Preserve

Mary Ann Brown Nature Preserve

Donated to The Nature Conservancy by the late Mr. & Mrs. L. Heidel Brown in memory of their daughter, Mary Ann, the Mary Ann Brown Nature Preserve supports a quality mixed pine-hardwood forest on the fringes of the Tunica Hills. Although dominated by beech and southern magnolia, there is an interesting mix of native hardwoods with loblolly and shortleaf pines. The preserve affords an excellent opportunity for bird watching and the region is the only place in Louisiana to see chipmunks, which are highly visible during the warmer months.
